Gift Ideas For Adventurers Under $25
Multi-Tool Survival Kit
Packed with essentials like a knife, corkscrew, screwdriver, and more, this multi-tool is the Swiss Army knife on steroids.
Whether you’re repairing gear, cutting firewood, or popping open a can of adventure fuel, this survival kit is ready for anything the wild throws at you.
Clip it to your belt, and you’re basically an outdoor MacGyver.
Waterproof Travel Journal
For those who love documenting every epic moment but don’t want rain, snow, or sweat to ruin their notes, the Rite in the Rain waterproof journal is a lifesaver.
Whether you’re sketching a route, journaling your travel stories, or jotting down wildlife sightings, this all-weather journal is tough enough to handle whatever Mother Nature throws at you.
I am a yoga instructor, and I have noticed that practicing some mindfulness and gratitude elevates every adventure!
Adventure Scratch Map
When living in an actual house, I had a map full of pins! Every pin represented where I have lived and adventured!
When moving into an RV, I needed a smaller alternative.
Here is a lightweight scratch map for any adventurer to catalog where they have been.
Waterproof Dry Bag
I am a mermaid! So, obviously it is essential to keep things dry.
A dry bag is essential for kayaking, paddleboarding, or any activity near water.
With its transparent, lightweight design, you’ll never have to worry about soaked gear again.
Perfect for adventurers who thrive in wet environments.
Gift Ideas For Adventurers for $25 – $50
Portable Solar Charger
No more dead batteries at the top of the mountain or deep in the wilderness!
These portable solar chargers ensure your devices stay powered up wherever your adventures take you.
I have found that you can go two ways with this: a block that has one solar panel, or a foldable solar panel that you plug into your phone.
I ended up going with the block for my 8 day Peru trek since I could strap it to my backpack and have it charge while I hike, but it is personal preference.
Hiking Poles
Hiking poles have saved my booty (literally) several times.
From climbing CO 14ers to descending Half Dome in Yosemite, hiking poles are a must for any hiking adventurer.
They provide stability, reduce strain on joints, and improve balance on tough terrain.
Also, they help distribute weight and reduce the impact on knees and legs, making long hikes more comfortable.
They’re especially handy for adventurers tackling multi-day treks, helping conserve energy and enhancing endurance.
Multi-Mode Headlamp
Personally, I love hiking in the dark. You avoid heat and crowds – and it’s fun!
Therefore, I always recommend a good headlamp!
This is also useful for camping and RVing.
Because I have taken some moonlight and starlight hikes, you might want to consider getting a headlamp with a “red light” mode.
Portable Water Filtration Straw
Stay safe and hydrated in the backcountry with this portable filtration system.
It lets you drink directly from streams, lakes, or any other water source by filtering out 99.9% of bacteria and parasites.
Perfect for adventurers who like to go off the grid—no need to lug around heavy water bottles when you’ve got nature’s water supply right in front of you!
I didn’t have one of these on an 18 mile hike and carried 6L of water on my back instead…yuk!
Crampons
Crampons are a fantastic gift idea for adventurers, especially those who love tackling icy trails, mountaineering, or winter hikes.
These spiked attachments provide essential grip on snow and ice, making challenging terrain much safer and more accessible.
I first hiked with crampons when heli-hiking in Fox Glacier and crossing Tongariro Pass in New Zealand.
Travel Hammock
Relax and unwind anywhere with the Wise Owl travel hammock!
Lightweight, compact, and easy to set up, it’s the perfect way to kick back after a day of exploration. Whether you’re in the mountains or by the beach, comfort is just a hang away.
Personally, I also have a stand so that I am not ruining the bark on trees when I am hammocking.
Darn Tough Socks
I know….socks is the worst gift. But I’m about to make an exception.
Socks make an unbelievable difference when adventuring! Just ask my feet after snowboarding with crappy socks…
Darn Tough socks are a brilliant gift for adventurers because they offer unmatched durability, comfort, and performance.
Made from high-quality merino wool, they wick moisture, regulate temperature, and prevent blisters, making them ideal for everything from rugged hikes to long backpacking trips.
I use the same brand for both hiking socks and snowboarding socks – and I never go without them!
Camping Cookware Set
With a cooking set, adventurers can whip up anything from a hearty breakfast to a gourmet dinner, all while soaking in nature’s beauty.
It encourages creativity and exploration in the kitchen, allowing them to enjoy delicious meals in the great outdoors.
Plus, cooking together can be a bonding experience, making every camping trip even more memorable.
Whether they’re a seasoned chef or a novice cook, a camping cooking set is the perfect way to fuel their adventures!
Gift Ideas For Adventurers for $50 – $150
Camelbak
I’m not sure I go anywhere without my CamelBak!
Designed as a hands-free hydration system, a CamelBak allows users to sip water effortlessly through a built-in straw while on the move, whether they’re hiking, biking, or climbing.
This eliminates the hassle of fumbling with water bottles, making it easier to focus on the adventure ahead.
Many models are lightweight, durable, and feature compartments for storing essentials like snacks and small gear, making them versatile for various activities.
Plus, staying hydrated is crucial for peak performance and safety, so gifting a CamelBak is not just practical but also shows you care about their well-being while they conquer their bucket list!
Backpacking Tent
Lightweight and designed for easy setup, these backpacking tents are perfect for those who love to roam, ensuring that they can travel far and fast without being weighed down by cumbersome gear.
A good backpacking tent protects adventurers from unpredictable weather, be it rain, wind, or chilly nights, allowing them to focus on enjoying their surroundings rather than worrying about the elements.
Many models also feature innovative designs that maximize space and ventilation, making camping more comfortable and enjoyable.
Merrell Hiking boots
Every adventure starts with solid footing, and Merrell’s hiking shoes are built to take on any terrain.
With waterproof technology and unmatched durability, these boots will keep your feet dry and comfortable, whether you’re trudging through mountain streams, muddy trails, or snow-covered peaks.
Seriously – I cannot recommend these enough. These have taken me on treks, climbs, and more through several countries. Plus, they have lasted me years!
Hanging Chair
I know we talked about travel hammocks. Well, what about camping chairs?
I’ve tried pretty much every camping chair known to man. My favorite? A hanging camping chair!
These are unique, portable, and comfy! Plus, I’ve found they are better on backs and sitting for long periods of time after strenuous adventures.
Chaco Sandals
I am a Colorado local. Naturally, I have to mention chacos.
Funny story – I once stayed in a hostel in Cambodia where you had to take your shoes off outside. I had somebody stop me and guess that I was from Colorado just because he saw the Chaco.
There’s a reason! These are hiking sandals that are popular amongst us mountaineers.
I would recommend these for hikes and other adventures where you are going to get wet.
Or, if typical hiking shoes feel claustrophobic on your adventurer’s feet.
Portable Power Station
A portable charging station is an essential gift idea for adventurers, as it ensures their devices stay powered up during all their outdoor escapades.
A reliable way to charge phones, cameras, or GPS devices can make a world of difference.
These compact powerhouses are designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor use, often featuring rugged cases, waterproofing, and multiple charging ports, so adventurers can keep all their gear charged without worrying about running out of juice.
My mother has hearing aids, and when we go camping…this is the only thing that charges them.
Please note that we hook them up to these solar panels to go totally off of the grid.
National Parks Pass
As someone who has traveled to quite a few national parks in my RV, I cannot tell you how much money I have saved with my national parks pass!
With a single pass, outdoor enthusiasts can explore over 2,000 federal recreation sites, including iconic national parks, scenic monuments, and lush forests, making it an incredible value for anyone who loves nature.
This gift not only encourages exploration and adventure but also supports the preservation of these beautiful areas for future generations.
Just make sure you put it in the right name.
Gift Ideas For Adventurers Over $150
Insta360 Camera
This is probably my favorite adventure camera I own!
Adventuring solo? No problem! Don’t have a drone? No problem! Adventuring hard and can’t get a steady shot? No problem! Need multiple shots from one video? No problem!
This has revolutionized my adventure mermaid and snowboarding photography.
With its 360-degree capability, adventurers can create immersive photos and videos that truly showcase their experiences, whether they’re hiking up a mountain, exploring hidden caves, or embarking on a road trip.
Plus, its user-friendly design and seamless editing features make it accessible for both seasoned pros and beginners alike.
Can you believe that the mermaid picture below was taken by me with nobody there? 👇
Hoverair
The Hoverair is a game changer for solo adventurers!
Perfect for capturing stunning aerial shots, it’s intelligent, hands-free, and portable, making it the ultimate gadget for any explorer looking to document their journeys from breathtaking angles.
I would also recommend this for travelers that want drone footage, but don’t want the hassle of learning how to remotely fly it (and crash it!).
GoPro
Known for its rugged durability and waterproof capabilities, GoPro cameras are compact powerhouse that are perfect for everything from hiking and mountain biking to surfing and skiing.
Its high-definition video and photo quality ensure that every breathtaking landscape, exhilarating jump, or funny mishap is preserved in stunning detail.
With a range of mounts and accessories available, adventurers can easily attach the GoPro to their gear, helmets, or even their pets, making it incredibly versatile for documenting their escapades.
Plus, the ease of sharing and editing content through its companion app means that adventurers can instantly showcase their adventures on social media, inspiring others to get outside and explore.
Personally, I love using my GoPro for underwater footage!
Arc’teryx Jacket
Not going to sugarcoat it. These babies are ridiculously expensive…especially for a jacket.
I ended up getting mine on a Black Friday clearance deal and WOW!
I was looking for a lightweight, durable, and squish-able jacket. Arc’teryx did not fail me.
If you look at a vast majority of my adventure photos, I’m wearing this jacket. That’s because it is perfect – surprisingly warm, lightweight to tie around your waist, and the ultimate “hiking layer”.
I’ve done many hikes with this jacket and even lugged it around 50+ miles through the Peruvian Andes!
Inflatable Paddleboard
Perfect for adventurers who love to get a little wet.
Unfortunately, hard paddleboards are expensive, large, and awkward to travel with. Luckily, inflatable paddleboards are the key!
Lightweight and easy to transport, these boards can be inflated in minutes and rolled up for convenient storage in a backpack or car, making them ideal for spontaneous trips to lakes, rivers, or the ocean.
What I love about paddleboarding is that it depends on the adventurer. You can relax, take a nap, do some yoga, or get an incredible workout.
Via Ferrata Harness
I am not really a rock climber, but I do love Via Ferattas!
Via Ferrata routes combine hiking and climbing with fixed cables and ladders. This requires a harness and cables/carabiner that provide essential safety and security for those tackling steep, exposed rock faces.
It’s lightweight, easy to use, and typically includes lanyards with energy absorbers to catch falls while navigating tricky terrain.
I have used these types of harnesses in Peru at the Skylodge and in Ouray, Colorado.
Personally, I’ve only used Black Diamond, so I can only recommend them. However, there are cheaper alternatives on Amazon (just be careful, cheap isn’t alway safer).
Yeti Cooler
You can find many coolers on the market. None quite compare to the Yeti cooler!
A YETI cooler is the ultimate gift for adventurers who love exploring the great outdoors without compromising on fresh food and cold drinks!
Known for their rugged durability and exceptional insulation, YETI coolers keep ice frozen for days, making them perfect for long camping trips, beach days, or off-the-grid adventures.
It’s bear-proof with the locks, easy to carry, and built like a tank, making it a practical yet premium gift that will keep adventurers refreshed and ready for their next journey!
If you are an avid camper, this is definitely an investment worth making.
