How many days do you need to visit London?

Ideally, 3–5 days lets you explore major attractions like the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and the British Museum while enjoying local neighborhoods.

If you prefer slower travel, I would take 1-2 weeks.

Even with that amount of time, you won't get to see everything. I have gone to London time and time again during every season and I'm still finding new things!

It is one of the biggest and most popular stops in all of Europe. There are endless spots. It also has something for every traveler: luxury, arts, hidden gems, culture, parties, and more.

Is London expensive?

Yes, London can be pricey. In all of my explorations of Europe, it is one of the more expensive destinations. This is one of the downsides to visiting London.

Luckily, with budget-friendly accommodations, free museums, and public transport, it’s manageable.

Is London walkable for tourists?

Yes. Central London is pedestrian-friendly. Walking around London can be a very fun activity in itself. Unfortunately, once you leave the main touristy areas, thing can be spaced more apart.

Therefore, I wouldn't recommend walking the entire time. London is huge! And you don't want to spend all of your time getting from one thing to another. Don't be scared! The Tube is very easy to figure out.

Can you squeeze London into a trip?

Yes! Even a 1–2 day stopover can highlight major sights, but more time means deeper exploration.

Please note that you will have to be VERY picky with your time. You need to prioritize what you are going to do and have a solid plan.

I would recommend going through this entire list and picking 1 to 2 activities you really want to do.

If I only had 1 to 2 days, I would stick to the South Bank and central London.

What is more worth it? London or NYC

It depends on your preferences! London is rich in history and charm, while NYC offers unmatched energy and modern skyscrapers. Both have iconic landmarks, diverse food, and culture.

Personally, I prefer London. Although I love the big city vibes, it doesn't compare with the rich history, stunning architecture, and incredible vibes.
