Can a beginner climb Half Dome?

While Half Dome is technically accessible to beginners, it’s essential to have a solid fitness level and some prior hiking experience. The hike involves strenuous elevation gain, rocky terrain, and the challenging cable ascent. It’s advisable for beginners to train beforehand, start early, and consider tackling the hike as part of an overnight camping trip at Little Yosemite Valley for a more manageable experience. Speaking bluntly, I would not advise beginners on this trail. And luckily, Yosemite has so many other options for beginner hikers. My favorites that I did were Bridalveil Fall, Glacier Point, and Tuolumne Grove.
